Thomas J. Colven, III

Mr. Colven was born in Augusta, Georgia, on July 17, 1954. He received his B.A. degree from Vanderbilt University in 1976. He graduated with a J.D. degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law in 1979. Tom practiced with Graham, Bright & Smith, P.C. from November, 1979, until the creation of his own law firm in May, 1996. Tom concentrates his practice in real estate development and financing transactions. He is a member of the Dallas Bar Association (Real Estate Section), as well as the State Bar of Texas.

Cuong Tran

Mr. Tran joined the firm on August 1, 2000. He was born in Binh Hoa, Vietnam, on November 14. He received his B.S. degree magna cum laude from Southwest Texas State University in 1997, where he was a member of Alpha Chi National Honor Society. He graduated with a J.D. degree from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2000. Cuong’s practice concentrates on commercial lending transactions with an emphasis on SBA loan transactions. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Dallas and American Bar Associations.

Matthew C. Meredith

Mr. Meredith joined the firm on September 13, 2004. He was born in Jackson, Mississippi, on April 20. He received his B.A. degree cum laude from the University of Mississippi in 2000, where he was a member of The Golden Key Honor Society and the Chancellor’s Leadership Class. He graduated with a J.D. degree from Southern Methodist University School of Law in 2004. Matt’s practice concentrates on commercial lending transactions with an emphasis on SBA loan transactions. He is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers.

John H. Ivie, III

A sixth generation Texan, Mr. Ivie left a career in healthcare to study law at Southern Methodist University in 1998. While in law school, John discovered his passion for advocacy, winning local and national mock trial competitions and ultimately receiving his law school’s highest awards for excellence in trial advocacy, including being selected for the prestigious Order of Barristers. Mr. Ivie joined the firm in March of 2016 and his practice focuses primarily on commercial litigation where he continues to represent individuals, corporations and financial institutions in courts across Texas. Mr. Ivie’s practice areas include real estate and construction litigation, contract disputes, commercial collections, replevins and enforcement of domestic and foreign judgments. Mr. Ivie’s practice also includes working as outside general counsel for small and medium-sized businesses, dealing with everything from employee and Human Resources issues to negotiating business contracts. John is a member of the Dallas Bar Association and the State Bar of Texas.

Becky P. Tran

Ms. Tran was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota. She received her B.S. degree from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2001. There, she was a member of the Association of Information Technology Professionals, Golden Key National Honor Society, and Alpha Chi National College Honor Society. She then attended Texas Wesleyan University School of Law where she graduated with a J.D. degree in 2005. Becky’s practice concentrates on real estate transactions. Ms. Tran is a member of the State Bar of Texas and the American Bar Association.

Michael D. Rich

Mr. Rich was born in Gainesville, Georgia, on August 21, 1992. However, he was raised in the Dallas/Fort Worth area and considers Texas home. He received his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas in 2015, where he majored in Finance. Mr. Rich then attended law school at Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law and graduated with a J.D. degree in 2019. His practice concentrates on commercial lending representation with an emphasis on SBA loan transactions. He is a current member of the Texas State Bar and is an active member of the Dallas Association of Young Lawyers.
